FAQ for tutors
Working for i Tutor club comes with many benefits.
One-off matching fee
We operate on a one-off fee basis, which means that we don’t retain a commission for each class. Instead, we charge a single upfront fee for our matching service.
Consistent Students
Our comprehensive log of students allows us to provide you with consistent work. We aim to offer you as many hours as you require and remove the time spent finding students. By controlling the number of Tutors in our system, we are able to ensure that we have enough students to satisfy your requirements.
Set your price
Setting your own price to control how much you earn allows you to choose how you want to teach. Because we trust our tutors, we discuss and decide on a rate together that values their time and effort.
Take Control
Create your own flexible schedule to decide when and how much you work. Arrange your lessons to fit around your work and home life.
The reasons to become an online tutor are countless but here are the four we find more attractive:
- Flexibility. Online teaching provides scheduling flexibility, letting you choose class times that align with your personal schedule and commitments, offering convenience and adaptability.
- Location independence. Teaching online, anywhere with internet access, eliminates geographical constraints. This appeals to those seeking flexibility for travel or remote work.
- Broader reach. Online teaching connects you to a worldwide audience, bridging geographic and cultural divides, broadening your impact and prospects.
- Travel time and cost. Online teaching eliminates the necessity of traveling to meet your students, saving valuable time, money and resources that can be better utilized in delivering quality education and enhancing the learning experience. Everything you need is internet and your laptop.
At I Tutor Club we only invite experinced, qualified teachers to join.
The tutors must have obtained QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) which is a legal requirement to teach in most British schools. It is usually achieved through a Bachelor’s degree in education (BEd) or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject followed by a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
If you are a qualified teacher interested in joining our team, fill in the form and we will get in tocuh with you shortly. We look forward to hearing from you!

Google meet has an excellent white board function for collaborative work and annotations. Normally each Tutor has a personal preference, and so we recommend that whichever one you choose, you become familiar with the platform’s features so that you can maximise your teaching experience.
We are committed to ensuring the best possible match, allowing teachers and students to work together harmoniously and maximise their skills during each session. However, if you find yourself no longer satisfied with the student we have assigned to you or you believe a different one might better suit your needs or preferences, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll happily facilitate a new match for you.
At I Tutor Club, our approach to matching tutors with the right students is highly personalised and thorough, ensuring that it meets the needs of our dedicated tutors.
It all begins with a meticulous review of the information provided by our tutors, outlining their subject expertise and teaching preferences. Once we’ve comprehensively assessed your qualifications, we schedule a meeting with you.
During this meeting, you have the opportunity to share more about your unique teaching style, challenges you have faced, preferences, and personality. We also discuss your preferred time slots for lessons. Based on this comprehensive understanding, we work to match you with students who not only have availability during your preferred schedule and require tutoring in the subjects you specialise in but also share compatible learning approaches and personalities.
Our goal is to create a harmonious and positive tutor-student relationship, where your teaching style aligns with the students’ learning preferences, enhancing both your teaching experience and their educational journey. This careful matching process ensures the best possible fit, optimising the teaching and learning experience for both tutors and students.

Payments
All payments must be handled through our platform, accessible in the ‘login area.’ This ensures that tutors receive the correct and timely payments. Please note, we cannot take responsibility for any payments made outside the platform.
The hourly earning potential varies based on the subject, the level taught and your experience. Tutors can earn between £30 to £60 per hour. During the initial consultation, we’ll discuss and determine the best rate for you.
We understand that unexpected circumstances may arise, requiring the rearrangement of lessons. Requests to reschedule or cancel lessons can come from either the tutor or the student. We strongly encourage providing sufficient notice if unable to attend.
Students are required to provide a minimum of 2 hours’ notice for cancellations. If a lesson is canceled within 2 hours of the scheduled start time or if the student fails to inform the tutor of the cancellation, the tutor reserves the right to charge the full price.
Tutors must wait for at least 15 minutes in the online classroom and make an attempt to contact the student via phone call. Providing evidence of these efforts is necessary for enforcing a full charge. If the tutor’s lateness causes the student to cancel the lesson after the scheduled start time, the tutor cannot bill the student for the full amount.
If a tutor is unable to complete the lesson for any reason, the lesson must be re-scheduled.
We recommend that you clearly explain to your students/parents before the first lesson, your expectations regarding cancellations and rescheduling.
